Watch Marquez vs. Lopez online streaming. Tooday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Rafael Marquez (39-5, 35 KO’s) will take on undefeated WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (29-0, 26 KO’s). This is suppose to be a build up fight for Lopez as his promoter Bob Arum is looking forward to possible match against fellow Top Rank stable mate Yuriorkis Gamboa sometime next year. Juanma is a very vulnerable champion as seen is his fight with journeyman Rogers Mtagwa and when he was knocked down by Bernabe Concepcion in his last fight. Lopez should have the hand speed and power advantage but Marquez will have the timing, counter punching and overall technique advantages.
Juan Manuel Lopez may start fast but unless he knocks out Marquez in the first half of the fight, which I don’t think will happen, my prediction is Rafael eventually will time Lopez’s footwork, jab and straight left hand and he’ll land many meaningful counter shots and pull off the upset by TKO in the championship rounds.
Every boxing fan has a list of fighters as they see to be way overrated and Juan Manuel Lopez is on mine along with Andre Berto, Kelly Pavlik and overrated pound for pound king Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
